Treating the structures of the musculoskeletal system
There are several concepts of manual therapy. Despite different approaches, they have one major common goal: the manual diagnosis and treatment of the structures of the musculoskeletal system.
Blocked or restricted joints often cause pain and tension in the muscles. Imbalances are detected with the help of active and passive movement, resistance and stability tests based on biomechanics and reflexology.
Using sliding movements (translations), joint mobilizations are sometimes performed in combination with traction (tractions), shaking movements (oscillations) or pressure (compressions).
Aims of manual therapy
The aim is to relieve pain and minimize movement restrictions.
